What we expect on the mat

A good training session isn't just about technique and effort — it's also about how we treat one another. These principles form the basis of our training together:

  1. 01Respect We treat everyone in the dojo with respect — regardless of grade, experience, age or role.
  2. 02Punctuality We arrive on time and prepared for training, so we can begin together, focused.
  3. 03Modesty and humility We train to learn, not to prove ourselves. We stay open to correction and meet others without arrogance.
  4. 04Cleanliness Clean feet, a washed dogi, and short finger- and toenails are a given for training. We also handle the tatami and training equipment with care.
  5. 05Growing together Those with more experience pass it on. We help each other and contribute together to a positive training atmosphere.
  6. 06Never give up Progress takes patience and endurance. Even when something doesn't work right away, we stick with it and give our best.
